Alex Boock

Alex joined the team at Fyfe Karamaena Law in July 2022 as a Senior Associate. Currently based in the Dunedin office, Alex was admitted to the bar in 2014 and has experience in all aspects of commercial and property law. Alex also has an extensive background in succession and estate planning, trust establishment and restructuring advice, wills and powers of attorney, and dispute resolution.

Alex brings a client-focused approach to his work. He prioritises connecting with every client, which means he gets to know and understand their goals and challenges, and values building on-going personal relationships. Whether Alex is advising on your business interests or individual matters, he understands this is personal to you and your best interests are always his priority.

Known for providing practical legal solutions and straightforward advice, Alex enjoys problem solving and thinking outside the box. Regardless of the legal challenges you may face, Alex is motivated to bring you the best possible outcome.

Alex grew up in Dunedin and attended the University of Otago, he then spent time in Auckland after his studies. He later started his legal career at a mid-size firm in Southland, practicing in the primary industries and employment teams. In 2018, Alex moved back to Dunedin where he joined a fast-growing firm and progressed to Senior Associate in their commercial team, before joining Fyfe Karamaena Law.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time at home with his young family and their Samoyed dog, Enzo. Alex can also be found out running in the hills, hiking up mountain trails, or on the slopes – anything outdoors! Over the last couple of years Alex has dedicated time to competing in trail running events, his longest run to date being 100km.
